Tracy's Top Ten | August

Tracy's Top Ten | August

I am forever finding things I love and immediately telling someone about them. So, I figured why not put them all in one place?

These are the 10 things I couldn't stop reaching for, wearing, using or talking about in August. There's a little beauty, a little fashion, something for the house and even a kitchen knife. Basically, no theme other than: I really like these things.

1. Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Balm

I've heard the hype about this lip gloss. I really like the Rhode one, but dare I say...this might be better?

It's thick and super glossy, actually stays on, and truly makes my lips feel so smooth. This has become one of those things I keep reaching for without even thinking about it.

2. Tower 28 Swipe Serum Foundation

I think I love this foundation.

I'm calling it a favorite because it's lightweight, blends so easily and feels great on my skin. Is it absolutely perfect for me? I'm not sure yet. I do think it may be a little too moisturizing for my skin right now.

But if you have dry skin, I think you're going to love it. And I'm actually thinking that once we get into fall and winter and the air gets colder and drier, that extra moisture might be exactly what my skin needs.

So yes, it's a favorite. With an asterisk.

3. Cuccio Milk & Honey Cuticle Oil

My manis weren't looking as good as I wanted them to, so naturally, I did some Googling. The internet told me cuticle oil could help save them.

Facts.

I've started keeping this at my desk and putting a drop on my nails every day, then massaging it in. I'm about two weeks in and my mani is looking amazing.

Such a tiny addition to my routine, but it has made a surprisingly big difference.

4. Pilcro Funnel Neck Bomber Jacket

A cool jacket is a fall staple, and this one is so good.

The funnel neck makes it feel a little different, and the green is exactly the right shade. It's interesting without being difficult to wear and neutral enough to throw over basically everything.

I have a feeling this is going to be in very heavy rotation this fall.

5. Teleties Boar Bristle Hair Brush

Apparently, I had no idea what I was missing in a hairbrush.

The combination of different bristles smooths and detangles my hair so well, but it's the little details that sold me. It has a built in tool for cleaning the brush AND a mirror.

Why don't all brushes have these things?

It's one of those everyday objects that someone actually thought through, and now I don't want to use anything else.

6. Paddywax Cappuccino Candle

This smells like a really great coffee shop, in the best possible way.

Some coffee candles can be a lot, but this one isn't. It's warm and cozy without making the entire room smell like someone spilled a vanilla latte.

I actually have it in my office under my candle lamp as I'm writing this, and it's giving me the coziest little workday vibe.

7. Casely Sunday in Brooklyn Phone Case

There is something about a fun phone case that just makes me happy.

And I love an unexpected stripe, so obviously this one and I were a match made in heaven. The blue feels very me, the stripe is graphic without being boring, and it makes something I look at approximately 4,000 times a day a little more fun.

8. Old Navy Ruffled Athletic Socks

These are my favorite socks.

I love a ruffled sock, but almost every other brand I've tried slips down. These don't.

And I especially love this colorway for that weird little seasonal shift we're in right now, when I'm not quite ready to go full fall but I'm definitely starting to think about it.

With loafers, sneakers, jeans...so cute.

9. Wüsthof Paring Knife

Possibly the least glamorous thing on this list and also one of the things I use the most.

This is my favorite kitchen knife. It's the perfect size for all of those simple little tasks that don't require pulling out a giant chef's knife.

I use it so often that it basically never sees the dishwasher because I can't bear to have it unavailable. I just hand wash it and put it right back to work.

That's when you know something deserves a spot on the favorites list.

10. Quince Organic Cotton Boyfriend Crew Sweater

This sweater is incredible.

It's perfectly cropped, slouchy and oversized, but somehow still looks totally chic instead of sloppy. That combination can be surprisingly hard to find.

And it's so affordable that I'm currently trying to convince myself I don't need it in every color.

I may not win that argument.

That's August

Apparently August was about glossy lips, good basics, cozy things and making everyday stuff just a little bit better.

Which, now that I think about it, is pretty much my ideal combination.

I'm thinking I'll make this a monthly thing, because I'm always trying something, buying something or discovering some random everyday item that I suddenly can't live without.

See you next month with whatever I'm currently obsessed with.
