Live Your Style with Handbags

Everyone needs a classic handbag in their collection.  The one bag that instantly pulls it all together.  No matter what your style, if you have a go to handbag, you can look polished, even in sweatpants!

It's a great idea to collect a few different bags that you love and use them to add the finishing layer to any outfit.  Some of my favorite places to get great bags are: Target, H+M, Clare V, Nordstrom and Lululemon.  

So what bags build the perfect collection?  Here are my go to's that can really complete the look for any occasion.

The Classic- a black leather bag is the perfect bag.  Get one with cool hardware, or keep it simple and chic.  You can never go wrong with this one.

Evening Bags- I love to have 1 bag that I can wear to any special occasion.  A metallic is great because it can go with almost any ensemble.  If you love silver or gold, try choosing a bag in this shade to match your personality.  Bonus- get a pair of shoes to match so you always look pulled together.

The Leather Tote- a leather tote is the perfect catch all.  It can hold your laptop or folders for your meetings.  It is great if you are out and about and need to bring a change of clothes, snack for later or even a book.  I love a cognac color because it just works well with lots of colors.  Also they look so good with age, and get better the longer you have them.

The Colored Bag- another thing that works so well is a pop of color or contrast.  I remember a hot pink bag I had years ago and it was always such a great piece.  It was fun and made every outfit look unique.  A red bag is a real classic too, and works really well with sportier looks. 

The Investment Piece- i will say that sometimes it is worth that big investment into a bag that you will have and use forever.  I love getting bags when I visit cool places.  It's almost a two for one when you can get something to remember a special experience and something you can use for years to come. 

The Belt Bag- they are so in right now and honestly, they are so versatile and convenient.  I have both sporty and dressier versions and they really make everyday a breeze.  You can keep everything super close and easy to access and easily be hands free!

I love that a bag can really change the style of an outfit or add a trendy element to something simple.  There are so many affordable bag options out there, and that makes it easy to play with the different trends out there while you define your own personal style.
