Elevate Your Every Day

Elevate Your Every Day

At the start of each year, I choose a word to guide me, and this year mine was elevate. Not in the sense of making life fancier or more complicated, but in the sense of taking what I already love and making it just a little more special. Elevating the everyday does not have to be a big gesture. It can be as simple as adding a small detail that brings joy and makes life feel intentional.

For me, elevating can look like adding lemon to my water or a sprinkle of cinnamon to my morning coffee. It is picking up a fancy hand cream I will actually use every day instead of saving for later. It is fresh flowers on the counter, or stopping by the bakery for a still warm loaf of bread and pairing it with the really good butter. Sometimes it is as easy as lighting a candle that makes my whole house smell amazing, or opening the windows to let the breeze flow through.

It can also show up in the way I make the simplest meals. I always buy a Caesar salad kit, but to elevate it, I chill the bowl first. I add the dressing to the bottom, drizzle in a little good olive oil, crack fresh black pepper, and squeeze in a touch of lemon juice. Then I toss it all together really well before topping it with the crisp lettuce and croutons. It is the same kit, just elevated into something fantastic with very little effort.

Sometimes elevating means giving myself a new perspective. I will put on a podcast about personal development while I am working, cooking, or even folding laundry. Those little bits of inspiration remind me that growth does not have to come from a big seminar or retreat. It can come from making the choice to feed your mind during everyday tasks.

When I think about elevating, I see it as a way of celebrating the everyday. Whether it is a little ritual, a new piece of art on the wall, or the simple act of choosing beauty in the ordinary, it is about living your style in a way that feels joyful. What is one small thing you can do today to elevate your own every day? ✨
